Montana Republican Senator Steve Daines and Wyoming Senator John Barrasso are trying to block the confirmation of Rep. Deb Haaland for Secretary of the Interior. Take action now.

Deb Haaland is an advocate for Indigenous rights, keeping fossil fuels in the ground, and banning fracking. She would be the first Indigenous leader of the Department of the Interior -- an agency that has huge influence over Indigenous issues. 

In contrast, both Daines and Barrasso signaled their support for Trump’s failed Bureau of Land Management nominee William Perry Pendley, an unapologetic racist who said Black Lives Matter was based on a lie and that Indigenous concerns were driven by “religious myth.” Now they are trying to prevent Haaland from getting the job. Deb Haaland -- fossil fuel fighter and Dakota Access Pipeline water protector -- has the knowledge and experience to get things done. But Daines and other Senate Republicans could stand in her way.
