When roots-inspired, jam-scene favorites Railroad Earth were preparing to record their new album All For The Song, the guys all agreed it was time to take a field trip. Their destination? The Big Easy. Joined by producer and notable artist in his own right, Anders Osborne, Railroad Earth let the New Orleans grease seep into their already widely-influenced sound to create an album filled with feel-good musical moments and tales of road-trip rainstorms, Louisiana getaways, and losing their brother too soon.

Today Petaluma Records released the official video for “Stompin' Ground” featuring Aaron Neville and Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The new recording is the second single unveiled from the upcoming soundtrack release Take Me To The River: New Orleans. The music video for “Stompin' Ground” features footage taken from the forthcoming feature documentary film Take Me To The River: New Orleans, which celebrates the undeniable musical history, heritage, legacy, culture, and influence of New Orleans and Louisiana.

Not too long-ago, Anders Osborne and Jackie Greene were booked to do a few solo acoustic shows together. One thought, and the other agreed, that the shows would be a helluva lot more fun if they joined together and did them “in the round.” For two friends that are gifted as both singer-songwriters and guitarists—impromptu “jamming” is second nature. But for these shows, they’ve ditched their bands for some stripped down acoustic performances, each taking a turn with one of their songs, while the other provides accompaniment.

Crescent City music legends George Porter, Jr., Ivan Neville, Anders Osborne and Stanton Moore will come together during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for 'Songbook Live' on Wednesday, April 29 at Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. Presented by health and wellness charity 30Amp Circuit, this one night only engagement will feature four giants of New Orleans' music performing songs from throughout their individual repertoires, as well as, the music of others that has influenced them, while sharing the stories, memories and insights behind the music.

Galactic brought their twenty-fifth-anniversary tour and signature New Orleans funk to the Fillmore in Philadelphia, Pa, complete with special guests and throwback covers. Anjelika Jelly Joseph was on hand providing vocals and an engaging stage presence, as well as rapper Chali 2na.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival announced its daily musical lineups running from April 23 through May 3 in New Orleans.
