Today, the GRAMMY-nominated alternative blues/hip-hop artist G. Love has shared the official music video for his new single “Laughing In The Sunshine,” the next preview from his upcoming album Philadelphia Mississippi, due out June 24 via Philadelphonic Records/Thirty Tigers. The breezy new track which was featured by American Songwriter is a serotonin-boosting ode to loyalty and friendship.

Garrett Dutton, aka G. Love, has a long and interesting musical history. Dutton began playing guitar at the age of eight and wrote songs as early as his first year in high school. Growing up in Philadelphia and having access to so much musical culture he began busking on the streets of Philly. There he was able to hone his craft that has propelled him to his status today as a prolific artist of modern musical culture. His music derives from a blues foundation with classic blues instrumentation.

After 27 years of coast to coast touring, the global pandemic grounded the touring juggernaut we have come to know as G. Love & Special Sauce. With band members sheltered in place and scattered across the country and G. Love's ever-pressing need to release creative juices bore a collaborative and experimental musical group.

It took 26 months for the second “annual” BeachLife Festival to transpire, September 10-12, but the Covid-19-includes delay only strengthened the shindig’s vision and spirit to deliver a celebratory tip of the cap to the Los Angeles South Bay seaside’s musical and lifestyle identity. The weekend’s music exemplified many genres, but there was a decidedly distinct number of post-punk rock and alt-pop bands who first blazed their ways to glory in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s.

The Infamous Stringdusters released a cover of G. Love’s 1994 debut single, 'Cold Beverage,' in collaboration with G. Love himself. The song was recorded in Philadelphia back in October 2019 at Rittenhouse Soundworks over the course of a single-day session.

The Infamous Stringdusters have had quite the substantial last week or so, starting off with their Halloween escapades at the beginning of last weekend in which they were able to jam with none other than G. Love of Special Sauce. This past Monday night, the band was featured as part of the incredible celebration What The Night Brings, the musical tribute to the late mandolin master Jeff Austin, with whom of course The Stringdusters had befriended and performed beside many times.
