Better still, Devon and Duane’s voices have tone and timbre similar to Gregg and Dickey, and their guitar shredding and (for Devon) organ skills would make their papas and Uncle Duane proud. I’m still going to vote for Derek Trucks as the top of a very impressive heap in this generation of Allman Bros. spinoffs—but he actually played in the Allman Brothers, so maybe he doesn’t count. I suppose that bumps D & D up to the pinnacle.

New Orleans funk specialists Galactic performed at the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club in New York, NY last Thursday, January 26, 2023 as part of an intimate five night residency. Special guest pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, from Robert Randolph and the Family Band, sat in and complemented the jazzy quintet well.

The Peach Music Festival casually moved into day four, with the Black Crowes and The Word headlining this final day. Clear skies allowed the music to rage with out a hitch. Many folks left early today, and the crowd density was much less.
