Grateful Dead

The Rex Foundation is pleased to announce its return to San Francisco's historic Fillmore Auditorium for its annual benefit concert on December 5, 2015.

With Dead & Company getting rave reviews across the Northeast, Bob Weir continued a relatively-new tradition of playing a signed guitar on stage to help boost a charity auction.

Last night at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA, Weir played “Peggy-O” with a D’Angelico guitar signed by all the members of Dead & Company. The one-of-a-kind EX-SS guitar, which also features the Dead & Company logo on its pick guard, is being auctioned on the tour to benefit more than a half-dozen charities. Currently, the high bid sits at $11,500.

A 2 night panel discussion and musical journey featuring Grateful Dead tribute band The Golden Rose, and covering the historical, social, archival and cultural influences and aspects of the Grateful Dead with long-time members of the Grateful Dead extended family. Joining the panel over the weekend will be:

1. Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Garcia-Queen of the Scene (Friday night)

20 years ago Producer Henry K gathered reggae music’s top talent to celebrate the Grateful Dead, one of rock’s most beloved and prolific bands. The result was Fire on the Mountain “Reggae Celebrates the Grateful Dead volumes 1 and 2,” critical and commercial successes that spent more than 2 years on top of the Billboard Reggae Charts.   On November 20th, 2015, Red Hillz Music will be releasing a 20th anniversary edition of this historic project.

I had no idea what to expect with John Mayer on lead taking on the biggest shoes to fill in music -- but I made it to Dead & Company’s first show and entered Albany’s Times Union Center with an open mind.

A half-dozen charities will be making an appearance at the Dead & Company concerts at Madison Square Garden this weekend, part of the “Participation Row” social action area organized by the non-profit group HeadCount.

It's all green lights from here as we make our way toward the November 20th release of FARE THEE WELL: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF GRATEFUL DEAD. Take a sneak peek at this rousing rendition of "West L.A. Fadeway" from July 4th, pulled from the Dead.net exclusive Complete version which features full audio and video from all three shows along with behind-the-scenes footage and intermission music by Circles Around The Sun.

FARE THEE WELL: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead is a fine art, hardcover coffee table photography book by famed rock photographer—and bona fide Deadhead—Jay Blakesberg.

We're thrilled to announce a fantastic upcoming show at the Fillmore as we celebrate Rex's work in 2015.
