Infamous Stringdusters
The 2nd annual Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival takes place Saturday & Sunday, September 21-22 on the gorgeous eastern beach at Sandy Point State Park along Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Highlighting the finest in regional and national bluegrass, jamgrass, funkgrass, and Americana music, this conservation and community-focused musical event was listed as a “Don’t-Miss Bay Music Festival'' by Chesapeake Bay Magazine.
The Infamous Stringdusters should be way more famous.
Not to say they haven’t earned numerous accolades, including a Grammy win for Best Bluegrass Album in 2018. The quintet also tops the bill at many string-based festivals. While perhaps not yet a “household name” in the bluegrass pantheon, the Stringdusters may be the worst-kept secret in the genre.
The Surf Hotel is honored to present an incredible evening of music featuring Billy & Jilian Nershi and Jason Hann (of The String Cheese Incident), Mark Morris (of Rapidgrass), Andy Hall (of The Infamous Stringdusters) and special guest Emma Rose (formerly of Big Richard) in the Ivy Ballroom on Wednesday, March 20th for a Mega Jam of Colorado All-Stars.
AEG Presents is ecstatic to announce the much-anticipated performance of the Grammy-nominated band, The Infamous Stringdusters, at Denver's renowned Mission Ballroom on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Travis Book, bassist and vocalist of, GRAMMY Award-winning bluegrass ensemble The Infamous Stringdusters, is stepping into uncharted musical territory with his upcoming solo album, Love and Other Strange Emotions. Set to be released via Americana Vibes on October 27, 2023, this album marks a significant departure from his acoustic and bluegrass roots with a no-holds-barred, head-first dive into Americana and Rock music; with more in common with Pink Floyd and Jason Isbell than Flatt & Scruggs and Tony Rice.
Closing out the month of July, the production triumph that is Planet Bluegrass made the magic happen once again with the legendary three-day event RockyGrass.
Earl Scruggs rests in a vast suburban cemetery just outside Nashville, Tennessee, beside his devoted wife and manager, among countless other memorials to the departed. A short distance away, the Country Music Hall of Fame displays his banjo alongside the instruments of his bluegrass peers, Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt. While Scruggs might not have single-handedly birthed bluegrass, he undeniably propelled it to prominence with his groundbreaking three-finger playing style, relentless touring, and fusion of bluegrass with rock and pop.
Earl Scruggs Music Festival treated bluegrass fans to an unforgettable musical experience this weekend at Tryon International Equestrian Center, delivering an explosion of show-stopping performances across three days. Returning to Mill Spring, NC for the second time ever, Scruggs Fest more than doubled in attendance from its inaugural year, bringing world-class entertainment, thought-provoking workshops, and countless on-site experiences including horseback riding, bourbon tasting, golf, and more to Earl’s home region.
The second annual Earl Scruggs Music Festival is right around the corner on Labor Day weekend, and I had the opportunity to chat this week with festival producer Claire Armbruster to get a preview of what they have planned for all of us this year.
