Ever thought of visiting Martha’s Vineyard, or simply looking for an excuse to go back? Beach Road Weekend has got you covered. The three-day music festival starts on Friday, August 9th, with a screening of Jaws with a live orchestra. The rest of the weekend has some great music in store for the island, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty will be headlining Saturday night, along with Vermont’s jam legends Dispatch. Alejandro Escovedo, North Mississippi Allstars, and Mason Jennings will also be performing.
This year’s rendition of Bourbon and Beyond is set to outdo the festival of last year that unfortunately was rained out due to dangerous conditions of the grounds. The new location will be outside the Kentucky Expo center at Highland Festival Grounds, more inland than the previous location on the banks of the Ohio River in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tickets for the inaugural Beach Road Weekend on Martha’s Vineyard August 9-11, go on-sale Friday, May 31th at 10:00 AM. The three-day music and media festival at Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven will feature performances by Phil Lesh and Friends, Grace Potter, Dispatch, John Fogerty and much more. The festival kicks off with a special screening of Jaws, with accompaniment by the Cape Symphony.
The Allman Betts Band has announced that their debut album Down To The River (BMG) will be released everywhere on June 28. The first single, “All Night” is due out on May 17.
Down To The River was recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, AL and was produced by Grammy Award winning Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, John Prine and Elvis Presley).
Peter Levin (Gregg Allman's Hammond B3 player) and Chuck Leavell (former Allman Brothers Band keyboardist and current Rolling Stones keyboardist) make special appearances on the record.

On December 4, 2018 the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) presented American musician, singer, and songwriter John Fogerty with its 12thannual Founders Award, an honor given to artists who have made outstanding contributions in popular music. The award was presented by Alexis Lee, Executive Director of MoPOP, during the museum’s annual fundraiser which this year generated over $950 thousand for the museum.

50 years ago, in 1968, the nation was at a crisis point. War, assassinations, political strife; millions of voices were yearning to be heard, to be understood. His natural talent to capture emotion in words, coupled with being the lead singer and guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival at the time, gave us three amazing albums in one year!
