Leslie Mendelson
Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre is proud to host a night of acoustic, folk, and good vibes featuring Tom Hamilton (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, American Babies), and special guest Leslie Mendelson on Thursday, November 16.
Two years ago Steve Kimock spent a winter’s retreat in a barn with lots of acoustic guitars and an engineer making Last Danger of Frost. To present this new music on tour, he created KIMOCK, with his son John Morgan Kimock on drums, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Leslie Mendelson, and old mate Bobby Vega on bass. In the process they found themselves inspired to write lots more songs, which gives us Satellite City, which will be released October 27th.

“Satellite City” is the first single from Steve Kimock’s forthcoming (October 27th) album of the same name. It will be available September 27th at ITunes and Amazon and of course at kimock.com. The tune sets Kimock’s splendid guitar against Leslie Mendelson’s beautiful voice in a beautifully mystical dream state, and it’s a wonderful choice in what will be a superb album.

Leslie Mendelson has released a video for "Chasing the Thrill"—a track off her new album, Love & Murder. Filmed and directed by iconic Saturday Night Live photographer Mary Ellen Matthews, the clip's vulnerable, black and white imagery encapsulates the song's raw emotion. "'Chasing the Thrill' is about karma," says Leslie. "You'll never find happiness in chasing after things that are meaningless."

Leslie Mendelson returns with Love & Murder—the singer/songwriter's first new album in eight years. The effort is the long-awaited follow up to her Grammy Award-nominated debut, Swan Feathers. A stirring work instilled with emotional depth, Love & Murder is an apropos title reflecting the dichotomy between the dark and light she encountered in those years between.
