In hindsight today, roughly fifty years after Graham’s renowned declaration (it’s difficult to pin down exactly when he said it), both the insinuation of the Dead’s supremacy and the certainty of their exclusivity are debatable.
The Livery, Benton Harbor’s premier live music venue, is known for hosting the best holiday events. This Halloween was set to be a live Dead party featuring South Bend’s own Grateful Dead cover band, the Happy Campers. However, the untimely passing of Phil Lesh transformed the celebration into a heartfelt farewell to honor his legacy.
Goose's performance at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC, on October 25, 2024, was a poignant blend of artistry and altruism, held as a benefit for Hurricane Helene relief. In partnership with Conscious Alliance, the Connecticut-based rock band raised money in support of local organizations like BeLoved Asheville and Hearts with Hands, who are providing immediate assistance to those in need following the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
In the swirling, technicolor maelstrom that was Haight-Ashbury, there was a bassline. It wasn’t just any bassline, mind you. It was Phil Lesh’s—an intricate, weaving, electrified pulse that felt more like the heartbeat of the universe than just another instrument in a band. Now that pulse, that cosmic conductor, has drifted into the great unknown.

Terrapin Crossroads is thrilled to unveil the full lineup and further details for Sunday Daydream Vol 3, taking place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at McNears Beach in San Rafael. This event, inspired by the many incredible outdoor shows at the old Terrapin Crossroads, is one of two all-day festivals celebrating music, community, spirit, family, and fun against the stunning backdrop of Marin County's bay shoreline. The second festival, Sunshine Daydream Vol 4, is scheduled for August 18, 2024.
