Steve Kimock

Steve Kimock gets back to his Bay Area roots with a very special line-up of old and new FRIENDS. SK&F, Kimock's feel-good side project for more than a decade, will rehearse and perform in Northern CA from March 9-16, 2008.

We need not recap the 11 year history of this wondrous event, held for five years now at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, NY.  We need no account of the heartfelt and soulful preparation put in by the original "Deadhead Heaven" promoters, Terrapin Tapes and Dupree's Diamond News, to commemorate the life and music of Jerry Garcia.  These details have been covered numerous times in other reports.  All we need is to be here

The Steve Kimock Band & Grateful Web teamed up to provide a LIVE streaming video broadcast of SKB's December 17th performance at the Wow Hall in Eugene, OR.  *** The archived video file is now available ***

Alright, so timeliness is not my forte.  I'm always getting caught up in the moment, hence my lateness with papers, reviews, bills, and work, but perhaps it is also a reason for my being drawn to The Steve Kimock Band, whose tendency to explore the moment through improvisation, emphasizes "the now" in music.  In my opinion, SKB consistently illustrates one of my favorite observations about existence that every "now" is a new "now", and they will continue to explore that maxim in their New Years Eve Celebration,

Before the 4/20/2001 show at Sanchos Broken Arrow (Denver, Colorado), The Grateful Web had a chance to sit down with Steve Kimock and his take on current events and some of his world views.

Thanks to Jen Kimock for setting this up. We hope you enjoy the interview...
