The sixth annual Mempho Music Festival is set return to Radians Amphitheater at Memphis Botanic Garden September 29-October 1 featuring headliners The Black Crowes, My Morning Jacket, and Turnpike Troubadours. A once-a-year gathering of musical hippies and cowboys in Monterey, California, Rebels & Renegades will once again take place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, this year bringing music to festivalgoers over three days; October 6-8, 2023.

Acclaimed Oklahoma roots-rock powerhouse Turnpike Troubadours will perfom at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on June 13 in support of their acclaimed new album A Long Way From Your Heart (Bossier City/Thirty Tigers). With vivid character sketches and blue-collar narratives, Evan Felker continues to solidify his place as one of the finest songwriters to come out of the dustbowl in recent years.

Acclaimed Oklahoma band Turnpike Troubadours have announced the September 18th release of their third album, The Turnpike Troubadours (Bossier City Records/Thirty Tigers). The self-titled album contains 12 songs featuring the quintet’s signature blend of roots rock, folk and raw country played with grit, passion and conviction. Word of their fiery live performances has spread throughout the U.S. making them a “must-see” act.

It was a great Taos morning, the skies the color of blue you’ll see nowhere else. Festivalgoers were up and eager for the day’s events.

I missed the first two bands on the roster: Greg B and the Gunsels and Sean Healen. I was especially bummed to miss Sean. I understand that the Santa Fe Brewing Company honored him recently with a permanent addition to their fine line of brews, called “Healen’s Big Hat Nut Brown Ale.” He’s famous, not only for his music but for his hats.
