Big Gigantic

Dynamic. Electrifying. Compelling. These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe BIG GIGANTIC and their powerful live sets at some of the top U.S. festivals this summer.And now the Boulder, CO-based electronic act---saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken--is set to bring their breakthrough sound of DJ-based music with live instruments to over 45 cities throughout North America this fall.

The Bear Creek music festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park was a fun filled sensual delight from the tingling chill of a Friday night freeze, the warmth of the campfire, fuzzy bear costumes all around, campfire smoke whimsically dancing through the air, laser light spectacles such as green naked lady outlines surfing through the trees, and did I mention the music? Promoters announce today the addition of Colorado’s Big Gigantic to the artist lineup for the Purple Hatters Ball held at Live Oak, FL’s Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. An annual event celebrating the life of Rachel Morningstar Hoffman, the 2011 festival will take place May 13-15 and will feature Emancipator, Russell Batiste Band, DubConscious, Papadosio and more. Look for a charity silent auction at the festival. All attendees are invited to wear a purple hat throughout the weekend.

Friday August 14th was a night of firsts. I'd never been to Mishawaka, I'd never seen these bands all at the same show, and I'd never really talked to any of them.

After the disclosure that String Cheese Incident founding member and guitarist Billy Nershi would be leaving the band this year, many fans were left to wonder what might become of the remaining band members.  Could they tour without Billy, or would this truly be the end of the Cheese?
