Elephant Revival

Over the years, many great bands have played the stage at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. And many of them have played in Fayetteville year after year. One of those bands is Elephant Revival. If you haven’t seen this band before, just go. I promise you won’t regret it. In the short time I’ve been listening to Elephant Revival, they’ve become one of my top 5 bands.

Suwannee Springfest 2013 was a rainy, thundery affair, but it still exceeded expectations for a supreme gathering of musical talent and a raucous good time. And hey, though it was rainy, as in torrential downpours with heart pounding thunder and lightning, the show went on (a damn good show) without much of a hitch.

Following a fabulous 2012, indie acoustic quintet Elephant Revival is ready to bring even more fans into their musical fold with a spring tour launching March 21 at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Ga., and wrapping April 27 at the Norman Music Festival in Norman, Okla. (See schedule below.)The band is stopping at several iconic venues during its current winter tour as well, including Club Passim in Cambridge, Mass., and Joe’s Pub in New York City.

Dark Star Orchestra and All Good Presents announced today that the Dark Star Jubilee will be returning on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, to Legend Valley in Thornville, OH, just 30 minutes east of Columbus.

New Year’s Eve can be celebrated in many different ways. Some people choose to be close with their loved ones, others want to find to wildest party, or for some it’s just another day. Music lovers across the land can undoubtedly agree that New Years Eve means good music with large array of shows to choose from. I particularly like the themes of these nights; reflection, celebration and renewal. I find people are always more positive on New Year’s Eve than other holidays. First, obviously there’s always a party.

Music often invokes a different emotion or nostalgia in everyone. Not only do these emotions or feelings warm our hearts, but they keep us wanting more. Groups such as Elephant Revival have no problem unlocking these emotions within us, and do so in an impressive yet joyful fashion.This 5-piece acoustic or “transcendental” folk band comes to Fort Collins to play a New Years Eve show at the Aggie Theatre. By playing a mix of folk, bluegrass and americana this group truly creates an innovative heart-felt sound.

Elephant Revival’s new EP, IT’S ALIVE, is now available to purchase through all major digital music outlets and online through the band’s website. Until today, the EP, produced by Grammy winner Sally Van Meter, had been available only at live performances.

Despite torrential winds, hard rain and mud pits, I survived Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival along with about 5,000 other bluegrass lovers. The weekend was filled with fiddles, foot-stompin’ and delicious falafels.

The Nederland, Colorado based indie acoustic quintet, Elephant Revival releases the staggeringly beautiful It’s Alive EP. This seven song collection comes with an illustrated hardcover songbook that contains lyrics from their first two albums. The complete package contains bonus digital downloads and a full color book with chord charts, notations, arrangements, and artwork by all the band members.
