Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe have added eight additional dates in Spring 2018. The hard-touring funk juggernaut will play four more “Eat A Bunch Of Peaches” shows—their highly regarded celebration of The Allman Brothers Band—throughout the Southeast in mid-April.

Over the past 20 years, New Orleans-based funk phenomenon Galactic have established themselves as one of the absolute premier funk bands in the country. From their relentless touring both nationally and internationally, to their upcoming headlining show at Red Rocks and so much more, Galactic has blossomed into a full-force spectacle that has to be seen to believe.

Few genres of music have stood the test of time unblemished such as funk. Though there have been progressions, evolution, and certainly fusion, the fundamentals are all in order. Grandfathers George Clinton, James Brown, and The Meters created a percussively punchy style of playing that was a liberating new form of music distinct in character and approach. Many bands will be described as funky, which is synonymous to loose, rhythm driven and interactive with an audience.

The 2^nd annual ARISE Music Festival was full of magic, wonder, music, acrobats, dancers, poets, and artists of all kinds just as it was last year during its debut. After reviewing the pre-party in Boulder and attending the open house on site, I knew that the creators and help of this amazing festival would come together once again to produce a loving, creative, and musical environment, which would provide endless delight for everyone involved.

Galactic is not just a band. They are a community. They are a party. They are a movement and a force that comes to town to bring an awakening or awareness that is deeply entrenched in a carnival type New Orleans experience. With Mardi Gras at our heels, Denver was still feeling the holiday spirit, and the circus was in town. I call Galactic a community because I have never really seen a band with more of an open family type jam spirit that welcomes so many different types of musicians depending on their latest albums or motives.

Over the course of his 20-year career, drummer Stanton Moore has become known as one of the premier funk musicians of his generation.
