This month, New Orleans-based guitarist and vocalist Steve Kelly announced his 8-track debut solo album, Here’s The Thing, set for release on February 21, 2025, via Regime Music Group. Coined as “Americana Soul,” Kelly’s songwriting navigates the complexities of life’s cycles, candid struggles with mental health, the perils and pitfalls of substance abuse and addiction, and the peaks and valleys of personal relationships, ultimately delivering a message of hope and perseverance.

Today, acclaimed New Orleans-based future funk collective Naughty Professor released the live studio video for “Mirrors,” off of their new album, Identity “Mirrors” features the smooth alternative soul vocals of Cole DeGenova set to the conga-influenced stylings of guest drummer Alexey Marti. Also featured is The Revivalists’ David Shaw on background vocals.

Today, acclaimed New Orleans-based future funk collective Naughty Professor released the live studio video for “Venison Poetry,” off of their new album, Identity.  “Venison Poetry”  features percussion virtuoso Mike Dillon (Les Claypool’s Fancy Band, Primus, Garage A Trois, Dean Ween Band, et al) on vibraphones and progressive jazz guitarist Cliff Hines (Cliff Hines Band). Naughty Professor is currently on an extensive album release tour, with dates upcoming in Boulder, Denver, Brooklyn, Boston and more.

Recently, acclaimed New Orleans-based future funk collective Naughty Professor released their highly-anticipated new album, Identity. Today, acclaimed New Orleans-based future funk collective Naughty Professor released the video for “I Can’t Sleep at Night,” off of their new album, Identity.  “I Can’t Sleep at Night,”  features fellow New Orleans musician Dexter Gilmore (Sexy Dex and the Fresh) delivering a powerful and expansive vocal performance as the focus of the track. The video release comes alongside the announcement of Naughty Professor’s fall tour dates, an extension of their Identity Tour, in which Dexter Gilmore will be joining the band on the road for select shows.

Acclaimed New Orleans-based band Naughty Professor recently announced the first leg of their winter and spring tour in support of their upcoming new album, Identity. Today, Naughty Professor reveal the addition of a mainstage performance (The Acura Stage) at New Orleans JazzFest on Friday, May 5, followed by a late night show at d.b.a. Naughty Professor welcomes Identity collaborators and special guests to join them at d.b.a.

Today, iconoclastic New Orleans-based jazz-funk sextet Naughty Professor release their politically charged song “Darker Daze.” Released with an accompanying video, “Darker Daze” is the second single release from Naughty Professor’s forthcoming 2017 album Identity, and features a unique collaboration with legendary hip-hop artist Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) as well as a guest appearance by fellow New Orleans guitarist/vocalist Dexter Gilmore. Also released today, the first leg of Naughty Professor’s 2017 Winter and Spring Tour.

On “Stray,” the band collaborated with David Shaw of The Revivalists, who brought his soulful, signature vocals to the track.
