Nolafunk Jazzfest
For 50 years, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, known to Fest-goers as simply Jazz Fest, has brought the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Big Easy to millions of festival goers. In celebration of Jazz Fest’s golden anniversary, venerable record label Smithsonian Folkways is proud to present a comprehensive box set of live recordings from the festival’s past.
Acura is building on the brand’s 18-year commitment to the music and arts of New Orleans as the automaker joins iconic bandleader, singer, songwriter and producer, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, as Official Automotive Partner of the Trombone Shorty Foundation’s Shorty Fest and Trad Fridays.
Coinciding with the evenings & weekends of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the inaugural Nolafunk Jazzfest Series 2012 lineup is now complete with the addition of Daptone Records’ Budos Band who, along with Hairy Apes BMX and special guests, will be a part of the Oddity Faire After-Party at Republic. (The Oddity Faire features headliner Primus at the nearby Sugarmill.)
