Goose, the head turning, indie jam rock band from Connecticut, followed their galvanized performances at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY and the Roadrunner in Boston, Mass with another mind melting musical experience at the iconic Met Philly in Philadelphia, PA on March 24, 2023. The City of Brotherly Love is no stranger to blazing hot jams from this band, as Goose delivered a pair of ragers at the Fillmore Philadelphia in 2022.

Which is the best version of Phil Lesh & Friends to play at the Capitol Theatre? The best version is the band that’s playing the night you’re going to see them. From a rotating cast of musicians, Phil Lesh has now played 100 shows at the Capitol Theatre since the reopening in September 2012. Starting in November of 2012, Phil Lesh played his first show at the Theatre since the Grateful Dead last played at the venue in February 1971.

Sunday night, Ani DiFranco returned to Fort Collins for the first time in a little more than three years on the final Colorado stop of her spring tour.

In March 1973, something like floodgates opening happened for Pink Floyd when their then-brand-new concept album, Dark Side of the Moon, was set loose upon an almost unsuspecting world. Tuned-in fans of the then-still-cult band who had heard the live ‘draft’ version – still known well into mid-1972 as Eclipse: A Piece for Assorted Lunatics – on a hefty clutch of spring dates were breathlessly awaiting it.

The Box of Rain band took the stage Saturday night at the Sherman Theater for an evening celebrating the Grateful Dead catalogue and musical stylings circa ‘68-’74.  Led by Bob Stirner (Living Earth, Boris Garcia) on lead guitar and vocals, the six-piece, and sometimes seven-piece when “Pig Pen” (aka John Bernstein) would join the stage, wound their way through an evening of period specific dead tunes to an elated and receptive crowd.  The band is comprised of member

Nestled between Boulder and Fort Collins lies the sleepy little town of Lyons, Colorado. Populated with little more than two thousand citizens, this historic settlement has deep roots in the narrative of the Centennial State. Like much of the west, this area was first populated by multiple Native American tribes including the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Comanche peoples, who thrived due to the vast resources of both the Rocky Mountains as well as the surrounding grasslands.

Six sets of music in, the jams and song selection by Goose remained impressive. Every component of their five night run was magically falling into place. This included another sold out night of music at the Capitol Theatre on March 11, 2023.

The half way mark is a significant moment, especially during a five night run of contiguous shows by the same band. A sense of accomplishment can be felt by all after two outstanding nights of musical bliss. Goose reached that milestone prior to their show last Friday, March 10, 2023, and like Ground Hog Day, the show was again for a sold out crowd at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

By his own admission, George Clinton is a freak, and in the best possible way. James Brown may be considered the godfather of soul music, but the 81-year-old Clinton must be regarded as the Patriarch of funk. His legendary concerts are the freakiest mash-up of rock, jazz, soul, funk, and hip-hop music that have endured almost as long as Paul McCartney has performed Beatles songs.

For fans of Ghost Light, we all know that Raina Mullen has the ability to be an amazing solo performer. For several years we've seen her shine in Ghost Light, but I had not had an opportunity to see her rock it out solo. She delivered a kick butt solo set opening for Mikaela Davis on March 2, 2023 at Milkboy in Philadelphia.
