In West Marin County, California, on Saturday afternoon, a benefit performance by Skeleton Krewe, a unique trio (Stephen Inglis, Barry Sless, and Rob Barraco) in which each member possesses decades of high-level Grateful Dead-esque experience, was enhanced by the presence of two powerhouse musical guests (Pete Sears and Jay Lane), both of whom have displayed their own improvisational prowess seemingly forever.

Those chilly winds are blowing us back to Mexico for another unforgettable experience! Dead Ahead Festival returns to the breathtaking Riviera Cancun from January 9-13, 2025, offering five nights of music in paradise. The centerpiece of the event will be three incredible nights of collaboration as Dead Ahead Fest featuring a powerhouse lineup: Sturgill Simpson, Rick Mitarotonda, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, Don Was, and Jay Lane, along with special guests Brittney Spencer, Grace Bowers, and the incomparable Brandi Carlile.

In the shadowed recesses of a desert oasis, where the neon lights of Las Vegas flicker like distant stars, Dead and Company brought their grand odyssey to a close on the evening of August 10th, 2024. It was a night that whispered of echoes, of journeys past and present, and of a legacy that refuses to be silenced.

Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack continue their groundbreaking and much beloved symphony collaborations. The band returns to the road this November, performing with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra on November 13 at Cincinnati Music Hall, the Chicago Philharmonic on November 17 and 18 at the Auditorium Theatre and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra on November 22 and 23 at the Saenger Theatre.

I didn’t plan on going to the Sphere to see Dead and Company (a.k.a. “Dead & Co.”) during their months-long “Dead Forever” residency. But after missing U2 and Phish during the inaugural year of the high-tech Las Vegas arena, it was high time I went to check out the uber-visual experience. It doesn’t hurt that Dead & Co.
