Longstanding American jamtronica quartet Lotus is thrilled to announce the release of their latest studio single and accompanying music video, "Watching the Distant Storm." The single, released today, invites listeners to experience the magnificent beauty of nature through music.
Inspired by the breathtaking spectacle of a thunderstorm rolling across a scenic horizon, "Watching the Distant Storm" encapsulates the spellbinding sensation of witnessing nature's raw power. This evocative track combines retro synth layers, cut-up vocal samples, and funky guitar and bass to create an emotional groove that transforms an initially melancholy motif into a vivid, emotive experience.
"Watching the Distant Storm" is the second single from Lotus's highly anticipated studio album, "How to Dream in Color," scheduled for release on July 11. The album, Lotus’ eleventh studio project, is a wholly unique listening experience that exemplifies their ability to paint a visual landscape through music.
Accompanying the single is a vibrant music video, edited by Lotus bassist Jesse Miller. The psychedelic video features live concert footage from acclaimed director MK Devo, combined with swirling, kaleidoscopic visuals. The impressive suite of media surrounding “Watching the Distant Storm” is a fitting counterpart to the album single “How Do I Come Down,” released on May 3rd.
