Tonight, immerse yourself in the electrifying sounds of Jimi Hendrix as Mr. Hat Presents a one-of-a-kind tribute to the legendary guitarist at Toot’s Tavern in the East Bay! Headlining the evening will be Liquid Sky, the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier Jimi Hendrix tribute band, with a special opening set by the hard rock power trio Babylon Gypsies. Doors open at 8:00 PM, and the show kicks off at 8:30 PM.
Liquid Sky, led by founder and frontman Fred Mabunga, has been wowing audiences since 2011 with their passionate performances of Hendrix’s music. This current lineup, featuring Steve Tamer on bass and Jimmy Perez on drums, captures the spirit of Hendrix with stunning authenticity. Expect to hear iconic hits like Fire, Red House, Voodoo Child, and Purple Haze, along with deeper cuts like Burning of the Midnight Lamp, Little Miss Lover, and Dolly Dagger for hardcore Hendrix fans. Liquid Sky's mission is to honor Hendrix’s legacy and introduce his timeless music to new generations.
Opening the night are the Babylon Gypsies, a Northern California hard rock trio known for their original, high-energy rock. Drawing influences from Rush, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, the Gypsies have a sound that is both classic and cutting-edge. With Robert Tillery’s soaring guitar solos, Lance Richard’s dynamic vocals, and Steve Carver’s driving bass lines, this band delivers performances that rival the best in the business.
