Today, Baltimore-based jam-funk quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong announced plans for a movie-themed Halloween weekend entitled “Flockbuster” Halloween. Performing two socially distant live concerts at The Diamond in Richmond, VA on October 30-31, the band will pay homage to classic movie soundtracks of the past few decades. Attendees can expect a high-octane exposition of Pigeons’ infectious energy as they interweave cinematic cover songs with their toe-tapping, funky originals. The holiday event builds on PPPP’s rich history of themed shows - previous endeavors include “Dead Zeppelin,” “Red Hot Sergeant Peppers,” and “New Year’s stEve,” among many others.

“On our last tour before the pandemic, we visited the only remaining Blockbuster Video store in the world and had an absolute blast walking around reliving our childhood,” recalled frontman “Scrambled Greg” Ormont. “Fast-forward to our current drive-in tour, we found ourselves naturally teasing songs from classic movies and felt a wave of similar nostalgia. Suddenly it all clicked and Flockbuster Halloween was born. With such an open-ended theme, there’s no telling which memories we’ll stir up for the Richmond Flock and those streaming at home.”

Although both shows are sold out, fans can watch from home by purchasing livestream passes through fans.live. Individual show streams are available, as well as a discounted six-show bundle of their full Fall 2020 Couch Tour, which resumes on October 24 in Asheville, NC. All streams can be re-watched through November 7 at 11:59pm ET
