On Tuesday July 22nd, SoCal based band Pepper released their new album, Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations.  Originally from Hawaii, the band brought their island rhythms and sounds with them to the mainland a few years back after they were noticed by a Los Angeles based indie record label.

Presenters Twiin Productions - in association with Jacalyn Kane Productions of the second annual WEST BEACH MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL set for September 12, Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 - have announced George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic with special guest Lili Haydn.  They join the event's all-star music line-up that already includes Ziggy Marley, Jason Mraz, Natasha Bedingfield and Big Head Todd & The Monsters.

Keller Williams has built a career on his uncanny ability to captivate a packed house-all by himself.  So why now, after fifteen-years as a solo artist, is he releasing a live album-simply titled, Live-with three other names on the cover? It turns out that since he first picked up a guitar, this troubadour has wanted to front a band.

On the 25th of July, BoomBox played the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO.  Their music is a unique blend of electronica, funk, and southern rock, the likes of which I've never quite seen before.  Bringing in crowds of both rock and electronica fans, BoomBox is getting bigger all the time.  Zion Godchaux, son of former Grateful Dead

This is hands down one of the cleanest, best sounding soundboards I've ever heard of a Jerry Garcia Band show. As you may know, Jerry never authorized recording of any incarnation of the Jerry Garcia Band, so most recordings in circulation are stealth audience recordings. Soundboard patches were few and far between, so everyone in current circulation is like gold to me. This one is absolutely perfect, with a pristine mix and gorgeous tone all the way through.

Sunday morning hit me like a ton of bricks.  I'd been out for the first day of Mile High, leaving sometime around 1:30 am for the drive home, and only slept about 6 hours before I was out of bed again.  In some ways, being able to sleep at home was a bonus.  I got to shower, for example.  But leaving the scene of the crime takes the fight out of a person, makes them soft.  To beat the elements, be they natural or of man's design, one must enter a Zen-like state of self-preservation.  Stamina and persistence are

Hal Ketchum recorded his new album, Father Time, without a net. He amassed more than a dozen new original songs plus a dream team of musicians and entered the studio to record the album live to two-track. There were no overdubs and only a few second takes. "When I went into this project, my mentality was that this is either going to work or not," Ketchum says. But at the end of the first day, with nine songs finished, he knew the experiment was a success.

The early Saturday morning sun heralded a very warm day to come, but the sky was clear and looked like it would be a beautiful day. After uploading the photos I took from the day before onto my computer, I sat at my campsite and typed in Day Three's festival memories. I hauled my computer over to the VIP Chill Tent for lunch and while waiting to connect with my other photographer, I sent out Friday's report.
