Dark Star Orchestra, the ultimate Grateful Dead experience, spent a little time on the mountain last night. The hills were alive with the sweet sounds of the Grateful Dead’s music at the majestic Mishawaka Amphitheatre. The band's triumphant return to the Poudre Canyon coincided with our nation's birthday, and believe me, it was the place to be.

Today Dark Star Orchestra announces their latest incarnation of DSO's Jamaican Jam in the Sand festival January 14 - 18, 2025.  This is DSO's 12th return to the island of Jamaica as the location for the joy returns to the Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay for another all-inclusive experience.  This international musical excursion is like no other and features four nights of Dark Star Orchestra oceanside performances of two sets each.

DJ Darkstar Dan is back, ready to keep the party going into the wee hours after DSO & JGB at the Greek on Saturday July 13th. Darkstar Dan weaves together live dead shows for an unforgetable dance party experience, as featured at Jerry Day 2023 & 2024 in Oakland. Mr. Hat Presents a DSO afterparty at the eclectic Art House Gallery & Cultural Center with DJ Darkstar Dan! Come on down to 2905 Shattuck after the Greek and dance to the Dead til the wee hours. Its a "potluck" dance party, all ages welcome.

Dark Star Orchestra's Summer Tour plans are now complete with the roll out of nearly a dozen new shows. This Summer's nation-spanning tour reaches both coasts - from California to New York - and many places in between, with the band performing at some of its favorite venues as well as a handful of new stages.

The music of The Grateful Dead will once again ring across Europe with Dark Star Orchestra crossing the Atlantic for four live events this September.

We present to you the Dark Star Orchestra, custodians of the Grateful Dead's ethereal legacy, who've been conjuring the magic of the Dead's live shows for over two decades and across more than 3000 performances.

The Grateful Dead performed at more benefits than they can count, to the point where they (amazingly!) got organized and created the Rex Foundation 40 years ago in 1984. Each year thereafter they would play shows for Rex, rendering unto the common good – small nonprofits that benefited society in the realms of the environment, arts, Native American issues, and education. This year they will celebrate grants that now total over ten million dollars given to over 1,400 grantees, a proud benchmark.
