Dobro, mandolin, guitar, musical exaltations and vocal flourishes – and much more – lilted through the autumn-painted trees and into the ears and souls of some colorful attendees at the fairgrounds in the Sierra Nevada foothill town of Placerville, California, at the ninth annual Hangtown Music Festival (formerly the Hangtown Halloween Ball).

Portland-based roots-rockers Fruition have just announced the release of Wild As The Night, a 7-song collection of new music showcasing their honest song-crafting skills and individual musical talents in a blend that could only be forged from years of playing together. Available everywhere November 8th, Fruition’s Wild As The Night conveys the emotions of our darkest, and sometimes weakest, moments. 

Fresh off of recent visits to Red Rocks to support The Wood Brothers, and to Nashville for a packed showcase at Americanafest, Fruition continues to roll out new tour dates to close out 2019. The band has added dates in California, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas to previously announced headline shows and festivals in Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oregon and Washington.

Portland, OR’s own Fruition will ring in 2020 with a short run through the Pacific Northwest, including visits to Bend, Eugene, Seattle and Portland. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, and Danny Barnes supports on all shows. The band is currently on tour, with their next appearance coming this Wednesday at Americanafest in Nashville at the High Watt. 

The Lil Smokies just released their video for “Gone at Last” featuring Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass and Jay Cobb Anderson of Fruition. This is the third video from The Lil Smokies’ latest live album Live at the Bluebird. The videos were all recorded in Denver, Colorado at the Bluebird Theater in late 2018.

With over 450 programmed acts, Arise Festival covered a lot of ground in bringing top-notch entertainment and education to their guests.

Co-Founder of Portland-based folk-rock band Fruition, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jay Cobb Anderson accepts the responsibility of capturing that dichotomy via his solo output. Moreover, he distills these universal experiences into hummable, hypnotic, and heartfelt anthems steeped in storytelling folk tradition and amplified by unabashed rock ‘n’ roll energy.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to share my very first Northwest String Summit experience with you all. I will do my best to honor this festival’s long history, while explaining my first experience, not only with this festival but at Horning's Hideout. This festival is in its 18th year here in Oregon, and it’s hard to think of another festival in such a serene location. That’s a whole generation of people growing up in this festival, which is something very unique and beautiful.

On Friday, Portland, OR’s own Fruition released “Alone Together,” the first track from an upcoming series of 45’s to be released on 7” Vinyl and digital services. The song was penned by the band’s Kellen Asebroek (watch the video from the recording of the song here https://youtu.be/6Kt3vFYrlbk) and will be paired with “Snapdragon,” a brand new song co-written by Jay Cobb Anderson and Mimi Naja.
