The Rex Foundation is excited to announce a special Bill Walton Grateful Dead Tribute Night on February 9th at the Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks game at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento.

Dead.net is kicking off the new year with a real barn-burner! Road Trips Volume 4, Number 2 offers up the entire blistering April 1, 1988 concert from the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ, plus the entire second set and a few first set highlights from the previous night's show, March 31.

The winter and spring of 1969 was a particularly exciting time for the Grateful Dead. They were finishing up their long-awaited third album, Aoxomoxoa, and playing with a passionate intensity unequaled in their nearly five years together.

Mickey Hart is internationally known as the percussionist for the Grateful Dead, legendary for his explorations of unusual time signatures and the percussion of India, Asia, Africa, and South America, a two-time Grammy winner and an accomplished composer, producer, archivist, and activist.

He also creates visual art.

Dear Dead Heads:

In 1964, Jerry Garcia and his buddy Sandy Rothman packed up a tape recorder and took off for the American South on a bluegrass pilgrimage. One of the groups they most wanted to see was “Jim and Jesse” (McReynolds), of Dothan, Alabama. They saw them, and they had a ball.

Jim and Jesse went on to legendary status in the bluegrass world with more than 45 years at the Grand Ol’ Opry, Grammys, and membership in any Hall of Fame that means anything to this music.
