The 14th Annual Gem and Jam Festival in Tucson, Arizona is the epicenter of the world-renowned Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase, while also a staple in the jam and electronic music festival stratosphere. The Disco Biscuits delivered a tasty setlist of jamtronica in their hometown of Philadelphia, PA at The Mann Center last night. They were joined by frequent cohorts, Lotus, plus a DJ set by Luke the Knife for an evening of high energy dance music. This was the second night of the City Bisco run, which replaced the beloved Camp Bisco this year, as it was not possible to safely hold the festival because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Minka / Beard-o-Bees is Ari Rubin (Minka) and Jesse Miller (Lotus, Octave Cat). Their debut release, the 5-track EP Paella blends electronica synths, dance-inducing beats, indie song-writing and a surprising amount of soul. After releasing the single “Out for Blood” the full EP is now available.

Luke Miller, aka Luke the Knife, known primarily for his vital role with Lotus, a multi-genre jamband, took the stage for his debut album release party at Club Vinyl last Saturday. The newly released album, titled Disco Nap, was produced solely by Luke Miller to set a perfect comprehensive sonic journey and ambiance for the club scene. It also allows listeners to dive deeper into the more tranquil and groovy tracks that are showcased throughout the album.

Today, Resonance Music and Arts Festival announced its initial 2021 lineup. The event, running from September 16th-18th at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV, will feature multiple sets from Resonance alumni, including Tipper (x2), Lotus, Lettuce, Papadosio (x3), and Umphrey’s McGee (x2). The festival will continue its tradition of “special” sets from a range of performers, including a mountain sunrise set from Tipper, a sunset set from Spafford, “TAUKing Wonder,” and a Keller Williams’ “Grateful Grass.”

Wax Future and Jesse Miller (Lotus, Octave Cat, Beard-o-Bees) have  teamed up as BeesWax for a new studio album, Royal Jelly, a follow-up to their 2019 self-titled EP. Instrumental quintet Lotus has announced the details for their new studio release Citrus. Recorded at Spice House Sound in Philadelphia during the same studio sessions as the band's 2020 album Free Swim, the 7 track EP is set for full independent release on April 6, 2021.
