Natalie Cressman
Natalie Cressman is a beautiful trombone player, composer, and vocal prodigy that has a long history already in her short life. As a longtime Phish fan, I started seeing her perform with Trey Anastasio Band many years ago. From that, I discovered her individual talents, and learned about her rich music history. Both her mother and her father have successful careers in music.
Trombone player, composer, and vocalist Natalie Cressman has captivated audiences with her natural ability to meld her diverse background with her career. Natalie has merged her talent and jazz skills with her seemingly flawless storytelling ability. Natalie’s unique performance will entrance you and leave you wanting more. Conductor Matt Butler is a genius! However he got inspired to come up with this idea of improvisational conducting talented musicians was brilliant. The reason that I say this is because it is very pleasant and beneficial to all parties when musicians are happier than the crowd. Everyone wins! There are only a few inspirational times when that happens. I see it when I am at major festivals and musicians are collaborating, or I see it in super jams such as the Everyone Orchestra.
Improvisational soul rockers Jesus On The Mainline will play Mercury Lounge on Friday, February 6th at 8:30 PM. The group features Natalie Cressman of the Trey Anastasio Band, so I know you won't want to miss this powerhouse troupe of virtuosos! JOTM's signature blend of funk and blues is reminiscent of rock greats like The Black Crowes and Joe Cocker. This 15-piece jam band has sold out famous NYC venues like Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge.
Memorial Day weekend always produces a number of different and distinct music festivals across the country, however one Midwest festival in particular has proved for countless years that they know how to throw a unique concert experience complete with a diverse music selection, an enthusiastic and experienced crowd, and a little help from the weather gods. This year’s annual Summer Camp Music Festival was one for the ages, providing fans with an unforgettable experience that won’t be outdone anytime soon.
The Joe Marcinek Band (JMB) is proud to announce a series of midwest dates with special guests Allie Kral (formerly of Cornmeal), Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band) and Joe Hettinga (Strange Arrangement and Digital Tape Machine) with shows at Bells Brewery in Kalamazoo, MI on May 29th, The Mousetrap in Indianapolis, IN on 5/30, culminating with a free show at The Ale House Pub in Bradley, IN on 5/31.
If part of your plan for Warren Haynes’ 25th Christmas Jam was to get in town early to have a leisurely night Thursday at the Asheville Music Hall, Roosevelt Collier and Friends threw a pleasant kink in the plans. Kinks usually get a bad rap but in this case, this evening’s kink was very kind. The Asheville Music Hall is right in the same area as all your favorite Asheville entertainment establishments at 31 Patton Avenue. If you have yet to visit Asheville, you will find the ‘Strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand.” f
