Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

Saturday at Bonnaroo 2022 began bright and early with so many activities that it was nearly impossible for festival goes to absorb much of what was happening around them. Even before the music began early in the day, there were yoga lessons, marathons, workshops, group gatherings, and parades all about the campgrounds. By the time New Zealand pop singer Benee appeared on the giant Which stage just after 2 pm, a large crowd had already gathered in Centeroo.

Currently soaring through a bustling summer tour season, buzzing Baltimore-based funk quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is thrilled to announce their Fall Tour 2022. The appearance will mark the band’s 48th and 49th performance at the 350-capacity downtown Baltimore venue since their inaugural performance there in April 2009.

Pulling into Summer Camp for my first time I couldn’t help but feel a bit apprehensive. Everything I’ve read or seen on the web says “It’s an amazing fest… as long as it doesn’t rain“ Yet, here I was, pulling up to the gate on Friday morning after 3 solid days of precipitation. Stepping out of my jeep into the parking lot I immediately sunk into the mud up to my ankles and thought to myself “Welp, I guess it’s time to get dirty!”

Today, nationally touring psychedelic jam-funk band Pigeons Playing Ping Pong released a kaleidoscopic music video for the studio cut of “Sir Real”, the fourth single off the recently released album ‘Perspective.’ Nearly a decade after its on-stage conception, the song made its nest as the fourth track on the band's sixth studio record, released on April 8th.
