Umphrey’s McGee are no strangers to the high-elevation rock and roll workout that is Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, having hosted raucous evenings as the headlining band numerous times over the past decade. You instinctually hum a tune in order to get pumped up in the morning, for fuel on the treadmill, to soundtrack your commute, or as the pre-game to a big night out. As much as he treasures his roles as a guitarist, composer, and producer, Cory Wong fashions himself “a hype man,” first and foremost. Living up to this classification, he slings a Stratocaster and hurls “dad jokes” from the stage with the same panache, poise, and power.

Innovative artist and funk guitarist Cory Wong has released another moving instrumental studio video for "Home" feat.

Los Angeles transplants Vulfpeck took the crowd by storm Sunday night July 14th at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The show opened with a solo set by long-time Vulfpeck collaborator and local native Joey Dosik, with an accompanying multi-instrumentalist. A young crowd of enthusiastic fans gathered early at the outdoor amphitheater to enjoy the well-stocked food and beverage bars.

Innovative artist and funk guitarist Cory Wong will join the world-renowned Metropole Orkest for three special shows November 20th, 21st, and 23rd. It will be a unique Cory Wong performance like fans have never seen before, and he will be performing brand new music that was written specifically for these shows along with new arrangements of previous material. The Grammy-Winning orchestra will be led by Vince Mendoza and joined by Cody Fry. Tickets can be purchased here.

Today innovative artist and popular funk guitarist Cory Wong (best known as a member of Vulfpeck) has announced the release of his third studio album, Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul.

I made a wish on the Zoltar fortune Telling machine. I wished I could unwind and rewind back to the glory days. I wished my youth wasn’t wasted when I was young. I wished to be me, free of worry, like the days of childhood Summer Camp, adventurous and curious, exploring the wonders of nature.

Earlier this year, guitarist Cory Wong set out on his pursuit of "The Koz Nod," what he described in his July Social Experiment video as, "when Dave Koz gives you the nod." Since Wong's proclamation of this new goal and his unwavering desire to be the "millennial ambassador of smooth jazz," he's been very vocal about his latest endeavor.

Cory Wong lives a modest life – Whether he’s on the road playing sold out shows with the Ann Arbor-bred funk phenomenon Vulfpeck, diving deep under the sea with the mysterious instrumental quartet The Fearless Flyers, or touring the world with his newest solo project the Cory Wong Band, it’s safe to say this Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist is living a dream most would say was impossible just a few short years ago.
