But I am very glad to finally be looking at 2020 in the rear-view mirror! It has been interesting seeing how different artists have been coping with the pandemic and related restrictions. I have, like everyone of course, had to cancel and reschedule a number of shows and scaled waaaaaay back on touring. Fortunately, I had been working on my Solo Acousti’Lectric show pre-covid and have been able to hang in there doing occasional outdoor events and extremely reduced-capacity indoor events.

About 40 years after joining the original Jerry Garcia Band, Melvin Seals & JGB delivered on December 20 two solid sets at a private, socially distanced performance. The gathering of a few dozen folks, mostly masked, took place on a bright, sunny afternoon in the small Sierra Nevada foothill community of Auburn, Calif. That the improbable, COVID-era show happened all was thanks to the tireless efforts of local concert impresario Scott Holbrook and his Keep Smilin’ Promotions.

A few tickets are still available for Saturday, November 28 at Ram's Head Onstage in Annapolis, MD, but tomorrow night's benefit show for the DC Central Kitchen at the Hamilton is sold out!

However... a multi-camera soundboard livestream will be available, and $3 from each livestream ticket will go towards the DC Central Kitchen!

This will be the first time Rob Eaton & John Kadlecik have played together since John K left Dark Star Orchestra to play with Furthur in Fall 2009!

We hope you all had as spectacular of an Halloween as possible under the, ah... current circumstances. I'll be doing a special all-Grateful Dead livestream performance tonight on YouTube at 7:15p EST in honor of the "Day of the Dead" and the 50th anniversary of the release of American Beauty!

For the first time in six months, Melvin Seals & JGB return to the stage for a very special one-night event, "Cats On The Bandstand: A Very Melvin Birthday Show.”

Beloved Philly Grateful Dead tribute Splintered Sunlight will be webcasting two LIVE concerts this 4th of July weekend from Ardmore Music Hall! Special guest John Kadlecik will sit in with the band on Saturday night. Both streams will be free via nugs.net and Facebook Live, but tips to the band and venue are welcome!

Almost 17 years ago, back in 2003, I played my first show with Melvin Seals in Albuquerque, NM and had an absolute blast.

Music-fan tribes of all stripes gathered for the Independence Day weekend to luxuriate in the 29th annual High Sierra Music Festival in tiny Quincy, California, basking in the music, vibes, joy, and friendships old and new. Over the four-day celebration, among the beautiful clear-aired mountainous sky and mountains, fun oozed everywhere, from the scheduled and numerous unscheduled live performances and collaborations to the often luxurious and nicely appointed home bases set up in the campgrounds.
