The Big Up Music & Arts Festival has unveiled their Phase Three lineup announcement adding fifteen more acts to the festival along with a special Kung Fu Tribute Set to Prince featuring Jans Ingber of The Motet.

Connecticut’s nu-funk quintet, Kung Fu is teaming up with Jeff Bujak for an official Big Up Music & Arts Festival Satellite Party at the Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday, May 16th. Their unique brand of lethal ‘70s-style funk mixed with EDM ideology recently caught the attention of Sirius/XM Radio’s JamOn and they have a huge festival season approaching with main stage and late night slots at Mountain Jam, Gathering of the Vibes, All Good and of course, The Big Up.

Nothing says Happy Valentine’s Day like giving the one you love some fresh funk so Kung Fu’s dropping their brand new single, “Do The Right Thing.” The nu-funk ninjas are set to release the full album in June 2013 but in the meantime you can catch them live on their Winter 2013 tour.

With summer coming to an end and the leaves on the trees already changing, Catskill Chill was a perfect last hoorah for the 2012 festivals season. You would be hard pressed to find people complaining about the festival, which offered three full days of some incredible times.

I just stopped sweating. Never mind that the mercury boiled its way well beyond 100 degrees for the better part of the afternoon. Never mind that the humidity made me sweat through the same shirt over and over no matter how many times I hung it to dry. Never mind that I should be over hydrated, but have sweated out as much as I have taken in. I stopped sweating. Nevertheless, I’m getting ahead of myself.
