Chicago-based singer-songwriter-pianist Neal Francis has shared a creative new video for “Prometheus,” one of the many highlights found on his acclaimed 2021 album, In Plain Sight (ATO). Directed by longtime collaborators Alec Basse and Max Moore, “Prometheus” is streaming now at YouTube.

Suwannee Rising Music Festival has released the artist lineup for the 2022 edition of the festival, returning for its third year to its home at the beautiful Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida on April 7-9, 2022. Suwannee Rising will offer a wide-reaching mix of nearly 30 live artists on two stages for a three-day weekend filled with jam, funk, jazz, soul, rock, blues music, and more.

Some artists out there could play in all the different spaces—stadiums, old theatres, jazz clubs, dive bars—and sound good in them all. Neal Francis, pop soul singer and keyboardist extraordinaire, and his three-member band are such an entity.  Their delivery of deep pocket, cohesive grooving over some pretty brilliant song material ensures they would sound awesome anywhere.

Chicago-based singer-songwriter-pianist Neal Francis has shared his new video for the song “Problems,” the latest single from his new album, In Plain Sight (ATO). In Plain Sight is Francis' second album and it was mixed by GRAMMY® Award winner Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT). The hilarious and raucous clip, directed by Alec Basse and Max Moore, finds Francis singing on a microphone dropped down from the ceiling in a doctor's office waiting room.

I drove down to Live Oak, Florida the Thursday before last with a close friend, for what was their third Hulaween experience and my very first one. My friend cautioned me at one point: “I wouldn’t tell people this is your first Hulaween.” That made sense at the time, considering much of Hulaween’s attendance were probably loyal returning patrons, who were in the know about what this place and weekend are like (and there’s something to be said for that). But now looking back, I think: why not?
