Rising Appalachia
Singer-songwriter and folk mainstays Trevor Hall and Citizen Cope will co-headline the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on May 1st, 2020, with multi-instrumentalist sisters Rising Appalachia, performing on the bill as well.
Trevor Hall has spent 2019 touring extensively and working on new music, including releasing single “Strength in One,” his first release since his critically acclaimed independent release The Fruitful Darkness (June 2018), which debuted at #4 on the iTunes alternative chart.
Rising Appalachia and Ayla Nereo are taking over the Ogden Theatre this Sunday, October 20th for a night filled with blissful folk music and serene feminine energy. Both Rising Appalachia and Ayla Nereo embody a progressive and enlightened voice that is setting standards on forward-thinking, yet impressively melodic and instrumental music, to come for generations.
This year, Rising Appalachia released a new album, Leylines, played numerous festivals, and did good work for the world. On August 25, 2019, Rising Appalachia will continue that good work in Northwest Arkansas during the Fayetteville Roots Festival.
We got in touch with Chloe Smith just ahead of the band's Roots Festival appearance to learn how music connects to the deepest parts of their human-ness.

Three bohemian bands and a world-famous clown came together June 2 at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, for a benefit for the Seva Foundation, a global health organization with a core vision of “A world free of blindness.” Emceed by Seva co-founder Wavy Gravy, who remains on its board of directors, Rising Appalachia, Dead Winter Carpenters, and The Sam Chase & the Untraditional marked Seva’s 40th anniversary by visibly invigorating the swaying, dancing crowd.
