Trampled by Turtles

The 18th Annual Northwest String Summit (String Summit) is one of the top boutique live music experiences in the country and presents today's leaders in the Americana, Bluegrass, Indy Rock, and Jam genres. It all happens at the iconic Horning's Hideout (North Plains, OR) from July 18 - 21, 2019. Located just 20 miles outside of Portland, OR, Horning's Hideout, a private family-owned reserve of old-growth trees, wild peacocks, ponds, and campsites, is among the West's most awe-inspiring festival sites in the country.

The sad passing on October 12 of Andy Goessling, founding member of Railroad Earth, the ongoing host band for the Hangtown Music Festival (Oct. 25-28), was a unifying thread at this year’s fest, prompting outspoken love, respect, and admiration. In the end, the shared loss sparked a like-minded cause for life celebration and a shared process of moving forward amid a backdrop of fabulous music, Halloween costumes, and community.

Celebrated Minnesota sextet Trampled By Turtles will perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 19 in support of their long-awaited new album Life Is Good On The Open Road. After an indefinite hiatus, the group returns with their first new album in four years, consisting of 12 new songs that feature Trampled By Turtles’ signature blend of rock, folk, punk, country and their brand of progressive bluegrass.

Six Chair Productions announced the addition of Trampled by Turtles, Martin Sexton, Joseph, and The Ghost of Paul Revere to the lineup for the third annual Festival at the Farm, presented by Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs at Prowse Farm in Canton, MA  September 15-16, 2018.

On Thursday, May 14, an extraordinary collection of music stars will come together at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, for the concert event of a lifetime, DEAR JERRY: CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF JERRY GARCIA, to honor one of the most influential musicians and cultural icons of our time.

I can hardly believe it’s almost October – it seems it was just a few weeks ago YMSB’s Harvest Music Festival 2013 was playing its final notes. This year, The Jayhawks are slated for an IOU performance they missed last year. Also on the lineup are festival namesakes Yonder Mountain String Band – they’re playing with Jerry Douglas this year in lieu of Jeff Austin leaving the band. Trampled by Turtles is playing, as well as Papa Mali, Elephant Revival, Shook Twins and many other great bands.

In one of the most musically-taut and diverse lineups yet, DelFest is poised to provide the go-to location for anyone looking for the best in music for Memorial Day Weekend, 2013. [May 23rd - 26th.]

Since the festival's inception, Del McCoury has brought amazing musicians to the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maryland. This year is no different.

What is bluegrass? Is it the strictly dictated by the legacy of Bill Monroe? Is it constructed by the lead guitar flat-pick licks of Tony Rice, Norman Blake, or Charles Sawtelle? Is it held by the torch of the current up-and-up popularity that the genre is experiencing?
