In the spring of 1973, the Grateful Dead was universally praised for delivering a consistently spectacular series of performances. The band was dialed in for the season’s final five shows, including back-to-back nights at RFK Stadium, co-headlining with the Allman Brothers Band. As the Dead & Company prepare for their final Farewell Tour this summer, the bands legendary percussionist, Mickey Hart, will present his newest art collection, the Art of Mickey Hart during two of the groups tour stops. Hart is scheduled to appear at the Wentworth Gallery at Tysons Galleria in McLean VA on Sunday, June 4th at 2 pm and on Friday, June 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Wentworth Gallery at Short Hills Mall in Short Hill, NJ. These two exclusive art showings will be private and intimate for patrons.

After nearly two weeks of cold rainy, and foggy weather on the southern California coast, the sun came out just in time for the opening day of the 2023 Skull and Roses Music Festival on Surfers Point in Ventura. Thursday, April 20th, was the first full day of music at the 2023 Skull & Roses Music Festival. Many in the crowd happily celebrated 4-20 in a smokey haze during the 12-hour musical marathon. The fact that cannabis is now legal in California made the occasion all the more celebratory. A strong wind picked up, clearing the sky of clouds, making for a warm afternoon and a crystal-clear evening.

Saxophonist Dave McMurray and vocalist Jamey Johnson have collaborated on an epic new rendition of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter’s “To Lay Me Down,” which also features contributions from pedal steel guitarist Greg Leisz, guitarist Larry Campbell, and bassist Don Was.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series where kids and parents rock out to the classics, just announced a special run of shows over Earth Day Weekend benefiting international non-profit Oceanic Global on Saturday April 22 and Sunday, April 23. The Garcia Project is a touring band that some may not have heard of yet, but they’ve been on  tour across the country for many years, selling out venues from The Sweetwater Music Hall in  Jerry’s hometown, to places like The Key West Theater in Key West Florida, and even the 1200  capacity Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, NC.
