Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom

For years now, these events organized by J2G Productions, along with the Love Shack, have been the hottest dance parties in Denver. Most of the reason why is because when a large group of extremely talented musicians get together to jam, everyone does their best to represent. I saw these first attending eight different Bonnaroo Music Festivals, where they hosted Super Jams and had collaborations on nearly every stage.

Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad's Make It Better has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. Make It Better (released September 16, 2016 on Rootfire Cooperative) is the band's sixth studio album and their second release to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

Continuing a highly successful run through 2016, Stick Figure rang in the New Year with a pair of sold out shows at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver.  Colorado has been kind to the band the past year, and in return they’ve delivered a number of shows across the state. No resolution should change that.

NEW ORLEANS SUSPECTS will return to Denver with two shows at Cervantes. The band will perform in The Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday, June 24th with special guests Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic), Eric McFadden (Anders Osborne) and DJ Logic.  Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 day of show.

Every Thursday at Cervantes Other Side in Denver, CO they feature a bluegrass night. On this night, Joseph James Brewing Company featured this week’s Grass For That Ass jam. This weekly tradition down in the Five Points section of this musical city has become a weekly occurrence for some of the bluegrass dedicated. On this night, there was a diverse music selection.

Phish has been my favorite band for the last 20 years. Since then, I have seen them 179 times. In addition, I have been a fan of jazz music since I was born. My grandfather was a jazz guitarist with Artie Shaw and a few other big bands in Philadelphia. Therefore, to say that I was excited to see two of my favorite genres (yes, I said Phish was a genre) of music collide and collaborate is a true understatement.

The same folks that bring you the musical mayhem of Dance Party Time Machine, Love Shack, and School’s Out are back with their original creation.  Way back in 2011 J2G Live decided that the music of the 90′s needed to be celebrated, and “Foolin’ Around in the 90′s” was born. That first event was such a success that it birthed the whole J2G Live brand and a series of innovative live events that have enthralled the Front Range for the last five years.
