Jerry Garcia’s 80th birthday celebration was celebrated a little bit early last night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Some birthdays are just too big, so when the stars align you just do it. Jerry was born on August 1st, 1942, and sadly departed planet earth on August 9th, 1995. He will always live in our hearts, minds and souls. Jerry was a beacon of light and inspiration moving brightly through our lives.

Saturday night, relative new kids on the psychedelic block Ghost Light made Fort Collins the final stop of their short but sweet spring tour. Hitting the road for the first time since early 2020, this group set out to trip the sound fantastic once again for eleven shows over 16 days.

Some birthdays are just too big to wait to celebrate! With the world set to celebrate Jerry's 80th in August, we’ve decided to let the good times roll a little bit early this year.

John Mayer has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and will have to miss Dead & Company's upcoming shows in Mexico.  Stepping in for Mayer will be Tom Hamilton, who has played with Bobby, Oteil, Billy, and even Phil before. Hamilton is also one of the two guitarists in Joe's Russo's Almost Dead.  Hamilton from the Philly area will not need help with the band's repertoire and should be ready to go from the opener -- the band is also planning to add some vocal assistance by Margo Price.

Lacuna, the debut album by guitarist Tom Hamilton and pianist Holly Bowling, is released today via Royal Potato Family. The duo, who also perform together in the acclaimed rock band Ghost Light, captured the music in one stream of consciousness, completely improvised recording session at Hamilton's studio The Ballroom in Philadelphia. Exploring the outer limits of creating music in the moment through a series of ambient excursions, Hamilton and Bowling showcase their powerful musical connection.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead kicked off their three night run at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ last Thursday to a packed house on a warm fall evening. This run was rescheduled from just over a year ago as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. Despite an injury to Tom Hamilton, the band delivered their unique take on the Grateful Dead without a hitch and made many new fans in the process.

Last Monday & Tuesday, Billy Kreutzmann brought his latest incarnation of the Kids to the mainland to play a two-night blowout at the sandstone mecca Red Rocks. Originally slated as a single show, tickets sold out almost instantly and in light of this demand, the call for more was answered. The response: another sold out show.
